ALPIANA – A place to come together

Where all are welcome

When people from several generations work together on a project, it naturally resonates across a broad age range! Our synergy is rooted in a deep understanding of our guests’ needs, wants and wishes. Fulfilling these is at the heart of our mission.

ALPIANA – a hotel for every generation! This isn’t just a third-generation family-run hotel; it is also a place where people of all ages – with different interests, wishes and life stories – feel equally at home. ALPIANA welcomes everyone: from solo travellers searching for peace and relaxation and individuals ready to revel in life’s joys to couples looking to deepen their bond and families with children.

Shared moments

For the Margesin family, ALPIANA represents more than just a livelihood; it’s a lifelong passion project. More than a job, it’s a calling. The collective vision of Johann, Monika and their two sons, Christian and Johannes, is to manage the resort in a way that allows individuals of every generation to share equally in joyous experiences, granting guests the freedom to seek solitude or engage with others, to grow closer to loved ones or form new friendships – while always feeling valued and appreciated. Not just as a guest but as a person.

The resort for all ages

When multiple generations work together on a project, it appeals to a broad age range. We understand the needs of our guests, we know their desires and wishes, and addressing these needs is not just a goal but a commitment. As a family man, Johannes Margesin understands what it takes to make a holiday special for both parents and children. Meanwhile, Christian is drawn to romantic getaways embellished with culinary excellence and wellness experiences. Johann and Monika, with their decades of expertise in the hotel industry, are from a generation that sees the concept of hospitality as deeply intertwined with genuine friendship. ALPIANA may be a luxury hotel today, but they ensure that it remains true to its roots as a traditional inn.

Long Story Short

The journey of the Dolce Vita Hotel ALPIANA began in 1975 when Josef and Rosa Margesin established a quaint inn with 25 rooms, laying the groundwork for what would evolve into today’s hotel. By 1979, Johann and Monika had taken the reins, gradually transforming the former “Völlanerhof” into an elegant wellness hotel.

A new era dawned when their two sons, Johannes and Christian, began to actively help shape the family business and gradually take over its management. In 2015, the Völlanerhof became an architectural highlight with unique interiors and an extensive spa, pool and garden area. ALPIANA was born. A family endeavour that has gradually blossomed into an exceptional holiday resort near Meran.

In 2023, the family’s vision expanded further with the realisation of a long-held dream. The Cape of Senses, a spa hideaway on Lake Garda, emerged as the latest embodiment of the family’s passion and commitment, their new pride and joy.
