It is not for nothing that South Tyrol is known as the land of flavours. After all, there is so much to experience here in culinary terms: Hardly any other region has such a density of excellent restaurants. The spectrum ranges from traditional parlours to modern Michelin-starred cuisine, but all are based on the quality awareness that is so typical of South Tyrol. Our tips? Numerous excursion destinations in the Merano region offer thrills: an adventurous walk through the cool Gaulschlucht gorge, for example, or the marvellous sunrise with breathtaking views from the Laugenspitze. The Felixer Weiher is one of the most beautiful bathing lakes in South Tyrol and is an absolute insider tip, just like the picturesque St. Hippolyt church with its very special aura. Families will enjoy the animal paradise at the Rainguthof farm in Gfrill, which not only offers a snack station and panoramic views, but also animal inhabitants to pet and play with.
