Experiences in South Tyrol

Cool things to do in Merano & surroundings

Our tips away from the tourist guides. Standard holidays are a thing of the past - we at ALPIANA focus on authentic holiday experiences away from mass tourism. We are happy to provide you with help and advice and support you in discovering the many facets of South Tyrol.

It is not for nothing that South Tyrol is known as the land of flavours. After all, there is so much to experience here in culinary terms: Hardly any other region has such a density of excellent restaurants. The spectrum ranges from traditional parlours to modern Michelin-starred cuisine, but all are based on the quality awareness that is so typical of South Tyrol. Our tips? Reichhalter 1477 in Lana, Miil in Tscherms/Kränzelhof, Cappuccino in Lana, IM KULT in Marling - to name just a few.

If you want to combine pleasure, culture and nature, we recommend a cabriolet ride with the DolceVita Cabrio. Your adventure starts directly from ALPIANA - green luxury: armed with a picnic basket and tasty local delicacies, you can stop off exactly where you like.

Numerous excursion destinations in the Merano region offer thrills: an adventurous walk through the cool Gaulschlucht gorge, for example, or the marvellous sunrise with breathtaking views from the Laugenspitze. The Felixer Weiher is one of the most beautiful bathing lakes in South Tyrol and is an absolute insider tip, just like the picturesque St. Hippolyt church with its very special aura. Families will enjoy the animal paradise at the Rainguthof farm in Gfrill, which not only offers a snack station and panoramic views, but also animal inhabitants to pet and play with.

Of course, you can enquire at our reception at any time. We will be happy to give you one or two tips to ensure you have a varied holiday in the South Tyrolean mountains.

Amidst fortresses and mountains

Southern floral splendour beneath palm trees. In the background the wild peaks of the Texelgruppe mountains still wearing their snowy winter coats. Orchards and vineyards, sub-tropical plants, promenades and Waalwege, mountain streams and paths – Meraner Land is rich in diversity. With a plentiful supply of flowers, colours, fortresses, mountains and walking paths.

Meraner Land - a world of experience

Meraner Land is an experience unto itself. On some occasions these experiences are stage-managed. On ‘Tallner Sunntige‘ excursions, at ‘Music Weeks Merano’, ’Meraner Herbst‘ culinary festival, ‘Schafübertrieb im Schnalstal‘ when the sheep are driven down from the mountains of Schnalstal, MeranoWineFestival, the ‘Blütenfesttage’ villages in bloom festival in spring, the ‘Kastanientage’ chestnut festival in autumn – there’s lots to celebrate at the DolceVita Hotel in Meraner Land.
